Greetings Comrades,
I hope that you were able to spend the Easter Holiday in your own way and hopefully with family and friends.
Over the last few months, we have continued our improvements to the post by completing our camera install, Wi-Fi upgrade and installation of two AED’s and smoke detectors. We have upgraded the TV’s in the hall for use for our amazing Bingo players as well as hall rentals. We are continuing to work on improvements with the county and will update you as they complete.
Next, our awesome bar manager, Kirk, coordinated with Stage 7 to bring some amazing bands in every Saturday night throughout the summer and into the fall. The concerts kicked off with ‘The Groove’ on April 25th and we will see bands such as ‘Whiskey Kronic’, ‘The Groove’ and ‘Hook’ play through May. More bands are scheduled to play, so keep and eye out for the upcoming flyers on our website and Facebook page.
April also saw our annual election of both Post and Auxiliary Officers. We also saw three of our post members get elected to serve as California District 8 officers.
May is the beginning of our summer and as always, it allows us to spend more time with the community. On May 2nd, we host our 5th annual Day of Service. This is a time for us to give back to the community and help show appreciation to those who appreciate us.
A Memorial Day Observance Ceremony will be held on May 25th at Anderson Cemetery. I hope you will join us on that solemn day to honor our brothers and sisters, who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Memorial Day is always very meaningful to us as Veterans. To you, my brothers and sisters, who came home and left a friend behind; I share your sorrow, and you have my support always. When those thoughts and feelings come back, call me or another comrade, we will share that time together.
Lastly, I would like to extend an invitation to you to attend our monthly meetings. They are held the second Monday of the month at 6pm. If there are things you would like to see done or changed, this is where you can have your voice heard. We are doing great things, and I want to hear your ideas on how we can be even better.
